Event Description:
Trappiquilting is a technique developed by Cristina that is like making a collage by fussy cutting and free cutting fabric. Fabrics can be either ironed into steam a seam or heavily starched. You will start the day free motion drawing a few simple shapes. Don´t worry, no need for previous drawing skills. From there, you will free cut simple shapes like circles, ovals, valleys and many more. After that, the fun begans. you will play with those shapes and will make a fantasy landscape. Once finished with the appliqué Cristina will explain her method of how to applique and trapunto at the same time. By the end of the day you will have a miniature quilt that can be easily finished on your own.
You will learn how to appliqué and quilt at the same time with an easy and innovative method. Forget about traditional appliqué and quilting and spend two days making a whimsical mini quilt. There is no right or wrong in this class. It is a class to let your imagination run wild.
