Name: Immersed in Color - Gail Harker Lecture
Date: October 5, 2013
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Color is so much a part of our everyday life; we forget it is a powerful, suggestive visual force considered and used by people since ancient times. Our use of color in art, design, craft and fashion evokes a deep emotional response. Looking at color in a new way can develop increased sensitivity, and engender a deeper appreciation for it. Learn about symbolism and associations of color and how to make color schemes more meaningful in your textile world. Take a fresh look at color and your perception of it as Gail reveals a multitude of inspirational ideas that anyone can take away and develop in their own works of art. Attendees are encouraged to consider and explore their personal ideas, preferences and prejudices about color, while viewing slides. This lecture is for anyone who enjoys the world of color.
