Event Description:
While growers may seek to grow the largest tomatoes, squash, tall sunflowers, or nearly any other vegetable, the quest to grow the largest vegetable has become a passion for many, especially growing the most gigantic pumpkin.
Lee Roof, President of the Pacific Northwest Giant Pumpkin Growers club, will discuss how to grow giant vegetables for beginners with advanced tips for the hobbyist. Attendees receive pumpkin seeds after class.
Begin planting next month and consider entering your giant squash or vegetable in this year’s Skagit Valley Giant Pumpkin Festival which occurs at the Nursery on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
