Join Gail to play and work with Circles, Rings and Spirals. Gail has worked with students over many years in her design classes and Circles is a Classic favorite.
This course will assist you in acquiring important design skills. Learn how to research the circle theme, be inspired by it and move that inspiration into a design. Play imaginatively, begin a sketchbook and keep it going until it is full using a variety of different media and skills.
Topics and Concepts of Study include:
- Take the fear out of sketchbook work
- The Art of Doodling
- Mandalas
- The Elements of Design in Circles
- Nature's Secrets with Circles
- Finding design when you are not looking for it
- Historical and Symbolic Circles
- Structures, Patterns and Repeat Patterns
- Organic, Geometric and eccentric circles
- Drawing from circular forms
- Contemporary designs using a compass
- Layering and cut outs on pages
