Name: Class: Macrame' Plant Hanger Workshop for Beginners
Date: July 27, 2019
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Macramé originates from a 13th-century Arabic weavers’ word migramah meaning “fringe”.  Fast forward to the 1970’s where blue be speckled teens wearing tie-dye tee shirts spun cord and twine into artistic wall and houseplant hangings. Today, trendy, apricot-colored Instagram pages incorporate fringe into stylized photo shoots that renew the aged weaving tradition.  Our customer’s strong interest in houseplants inspires this beginners “fringe” workshop with Kierra Burton and Kendra McConnell, lead makers and owners of Hoag Road Maker Co. in Mount Vernon.  Meet us under the tent in the Rose Garden where attendees will learn four knot styles, which are the building blocks in making a 36-inch organic cotton cord indoor plant hanger (accommodates a 4 to 8-inch potted plant).  These four knot styles can also be used for future projects.  All supplies and materials provided.  Pot and plant not included
