Here and There engages viewers in a discussion between Morris Graves, eight contemporary artists, and their environments. In addition to works by these eight artists, the exhibit features two pieces created by Graves while he was living in both Skagit and Humboldt Counties. Not only did these artists live in the same topographical regions as Graves, they are also contemplating the natural world and its ability to inspire creativity. Included with the artworks will be several photos of Graves taken by Imogen Cunningham and Mary Randlett. 

Artists include Lanny Bergner, Imogen Cunningham, Ann Chadwick Reid, Eve Deisher, Lori Goodman, Morris Graves, Leslie Kenneth Price, Julie McNiel, Allen Moe, Mary Randlett, and Emily Silver.

Skagit Community Band Presents: My Romance
We don't need anything but you,a concert of romantic music with a twist . Friday Feb. 5 La Conner, Maple Hall 7:30 p.m. Saturday Feb. 6 Anacortes - Brodniak Hall 7:30 p.m. Join the Skagit Community Band as we explore the many facets of love through music. Selections include: Rumba of Love, Shenandoah, Fairest of the Fair and Sinatra a selection of his greatest hits. Other selection include Percy Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy and Gordon Jacob's The Barber of Seville Goes to the Devil. Admission to this concert is FREE but donations will be gladly accepted. A glorious profusion of the newest hellebores will turn our vintage greenhouse into a tapestry of jewel tones. Horticulturist Riz Reyes will present the basic types, culture and breeding of hellebores.

Join local educator Melody Young once a month for a guided tour and engaging discussion of the museum’s current exhibitions. Tours are family-friendly and geared for native speakers as well as students of the language.

Artists, writers, and community members will reflect on place: How do we shape and become shaped by locales present, past, lived or imagined? Featured presenters include Kathleen Faulkner, David C. Kane, Paul Kunihølm Pauper, and Stephen Roxborough.  

Mark was lead vocalist for the coveted band "Roomful of Blues" from 2002 to 2006, and has been awarded best vocalist, songwriter and harmonica by The Washington Blues Society more than any other artist. His work on the chromatic harmonica is considered as some of the most innovative in Blues music, and his ability to circular breathe has left audiences amazed.
