Event Description:
Come experience the tactile and transformative media of felt making. Focus will be on creating 2-D and 3-D forms using wool, soap, water, and friction. Instruction will be given on making flat felt, cords, and solid spheres as a foundation for building methods used in creating future functional and sculptural pieces.
Tricia A. Stackle is an artist, designer, and art educator for makers of all ages. She earned an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her work has been featured in FiberArts Magazine, Surface Design Magazine, and was recently published in Lark’s 500 Felt Objects and a Korean/English book Mobile Architecture.
